What Data Just5K Keeps, and How to Delete It
No account, no server: what Just5K stores on your iPhone, what it reads and saves in Apple Health, and how to remove all of it.
The Short Version
Just5K has no account and no server. Everything the app knows about you stays on your iPhone, and the app doesn't send any of it to us. The only thing it loads from the internet is map images from Apple, for the route map after a run.
What's Stored on Your iPhone
- Your first name, if you entered one.
- Your answers from setup, all of which you could skip: your weight (only used to suggest a starting program), how long you could run, your program and your training days.
- Your progress: which sessions you've done, which week you're on, and your answer to the day's check-in.
- Your reminder settings.
Apple Health
Only if you allow it. Just5K reads your workouts, so runs from your watch or other apps can count, and last night's sleep, for a gentle note after a short night. It saves your finished runs as workouts with distance and route. More in how to connect Apple Health.
Location
Only during a run, to measure distance and draw your route. It isn't used at any other time, and Just5K doesn't send it anywhere.
How to Delete Your Data
- Everything in the app. Delete Just5K from your iPhone: touch and hold the icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. That erases everything the app stored on the phone.
- Runs saved to Apple Health. These stay in Health after you delete the app, like any workout. To remove them, open the Health app, go to Browse, then Activity, then Workouts, and tap Show All Data. Swipe left on a workout and tap Delete.
- Stop sharing with Health. In the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps, then Just5K, and turn off what you don't want to share.
- Location. In Settings, go to Privacy & Security, then Location Services, then Just5K.
